About the webinar:

How can access to fibre networks play a key role in enabling the Green Deal?

Achieving the goals of the European Green Deal, which aims to tackle urgent climate and environmental challenges, will require changes across many sectors and the buy-in of society as a whole. During this webinar, with the aid of case studies and interviews from climate-leader Sweden, we will discuss how fibre networks can contribute to the transition to an environmentally sustainable future as well as exploring how the migration to fibre and 5G could in itself limit the emissions footprint of the telecom sector.

Some of the speakers are the author of the study: Ilsa Godlovitch, WIK Consults as well as Carlota Reyners Fontana from the European Commission, the Mayor of the city of Stockholm Anna König Jerlmyr and some best practices from real life. The webinar will be concluded in a panel discussion with possibilities to ask questions.

The seminar is hosted by Stokab, the municipal network provider in Stockholm. Stokab, owned by the City of Stockholm, operates a wholesale-only network providing dark fibre on equal terms to the market.
