Welcome to an open network of fibre for positive development
of IT in Stockholm

About Stokab

Stokab is owned by the City of Stockholm, and is an independent provider of passive infrastructure in the form of optical fibres, with no active termination equipment, known as dark fibre.

We lease dark fibre

Telecom operators, businesses, local authorities and organisations can lease dark fibre from Stokab. In addition to fibre optics, Stokab provides space in nodes and/or hubs in which customers can install communication equipment needed to connect their own networks to those of others.

Fibre as a Service

As a Stokab customer, you receive Fibre as a Service (FaaS) and always our best price.

You don’t need to make any expensive investments in the fibre infrastructure in order to establish yourself in the Stockholm market – we’ve already done that for you!

Tomorrow’s opportunities

For 25 years, we have been building, maintaining and leasing fibre connections in what is now the world’s largest open fibre network.

Our fine-mesh network is well developed and reaches 90 per cent of households within the greater Stockholm area. Apartment blocks and commercial properties are connected to the network, along with other locations in the Stockholm region.
