Resource use and circular economy

Stokab works actively to use resources as efficiently as possible and minimize environmental and climate impact throughout its operations – from procurement and planning to the construction process, transportation and use of technology.

 High resource efficiency

Stokab’s target of ensuring high resource efficiency addresses areas that will become increasingly important in the future, including procurement, construction processes, work planning, transport and the use of technology. For Stokab, resource efficiency means making the best possible use of the resources required for its operations, while minimising environmental and climate impact.

The contractor performs an assessment to determine the quantities of materials needed for a project. Before materials are picked from the warehouse, the quantity is reviewed by Stokab’s project manager. Materials not used in the project are returned to the warehouse for reuse in other projects.

Another way to improve resource efficiency in materials management is to minimise the number of products used in the network. Through standardisation, Stokab can procure from a wider range of suppliers, which reduces the risk of insufficient availability of certain products and also simplifies procedures for reuse and recycling.
